Connecting for Windows Vista Users

After you have run the PittNet Complete CD, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button and then click Connect To.
  2. Select WIRELESS-PITTNET and then click Connect.
  3. Click Enter/Select additional log on information.
  4. Enter your University Computer Account username and password and click OK.

That's it - you're connected!

Connecting for Windows XP/2000 Users

After you have run the PittNet Complete CD, complete the following steps:

  1. Double click the Cisco Secure Services icon in the system tray.

  2. Click the Manage Networks tab.
  3. Select the WIRELESS-PITTNET profile and click Connect.
  4. Enter your University Computer Account username and click Send.
  5. Enter your University Computer Account password and click Send.

That's it - you're connected!

Connecting for Mac OS X 10.5 Users

You do not need to run the PittNet Complete CD. Use the following steps to connect:

  1. Click the Apple Airport icon.
  2. Select WIRELESS-PITTNET.
  3. Enter your University Computer Account username and password and click OK.

That's it - you're connected!

Connecting for Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4 Users

After you have run the PittNet Complete CD or manually configured your computer, use the following steps to connect:

  1. Open the Internet Connection application.
  2. Click the 802.1x tab.
  3. Click Connect.

That's it - you're connected!

Switching between Wireless PittNet and other wireless networks

Windows XP/2000 Users: If you used the PittNet Complete CD to set up your computer, then you will need to disconnect from Wireless PittNet whenever you are away from campus and want to use another wireless network. When you come back to campus, you'll need to re-enable the Cisco Secure Services client.
